Richard D. Forman - Managing Partner
Richard D. Forman is the managing member of Health Venture Group, LLC. He also serves as a board member of the New York Angels (newyorkangels.com) , a member led and managed investment group focused primarily on technology based ventures in the Northeast United States. Previously, Mr. Forman was President and CEO of Register.com, Inc. (NASDAQ-RCOM) through June of 2003. During his tenure as CEO of Register.com, Inc., Mr. Forman led the Company through explosive growth and change including:

  • Grew the employee base from 9 to over 500 employees
  • Increased annual revenue from under $1mm to over $115mm
  • Successfully completed three (3) acquisitions, including one cross-border EU based acquisition
  • Received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Winner in 2002 and a Finalist in 2000)
  • Raised over $150mm through a series of private and public (IPO) offerings of preferred and common stock
  • Generated $100mm in cumulative operating cash flows and achieved 12 quarters of positive operating cash flow

From August 1987 to October 1990, Mr. Forman was a consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton, Inc., where he helped implement numerous business development and technology strategies. Mr. Forman is a 1987 Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Management and Technology Program, and earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Moore School of Electrical Engineering. He also obtained a Masters Degree from New York University's Real Estate Institute in 1995. Currently, he sits on the Board of Overseers of the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania and is the Chairman of the Dean’s New York Advisory Council.

Dr. Robert Krasner - Advisor
Dr. Krasner is an outside advisor to Health Venture Group, LLC. He brings more than 30 years experience as an internist with concentrated expertise in information gathering, analysis and presentation. As a Rear Admiral in the Medical Corps, US Navy, Robert Krasner served for nearly ten years as the Attending Physician to Congress, where he attended to the world wide care of the members of the United States Senate, House of Representatives, and Supreme Court. He has also served on the President's Task Force to Improve Health Care Delivery for our Nation's Veterans.

Dr. Krasner was awarded the Legion of Merit for his clinical work and subsequently the Distinguished Service Medal for his "outstanding performance as physician, advisor, administrator, and confidant for the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government."

In addition to his service to the United States government, Dr. Krasner has broad international experience. He has served in Ethiopia helping to care for Emperor Haile Selassie and his family; under three ambassadors at the American Embassy in London; and as clinician, field and bench researcher in Panama and Indonesia. Dr. Krasner is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Cornell University Medical Center.

Dr. Holly Atkinson - Advisor
Dr. Holly G. Atkinson is a physician, award-winning medical journalist and noted professional speaker who has engaged national audiences on a wide range of medical topics for more than 20 years. She holds degrees in both medicine and journalism and has had extensive experience as a medical correspondent, including assignments with NBC's Today show and The CBS Morning News. She has worked in print, broadcast television and online media for both medical professional and consumer audiences.

Dr. Atkinson is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Medicine and Co-director of the Advancing Idealism in Medicine Program at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and an adjunct professor of public health at Weill Medical College of Cornell University. In addition, she is medical editor-in-chief of www.everydayhealth.com, a leading health website. She is also past president and a member of the board of directors of Physicians for Human Rights, a Nobel Peace Prize-winning health and human rights organization.

Dr. Atkinson was the Chairwoman of iVillage Health Initiatives and resident physician on iVillage.com. She was also a founder as well as President and CEO of Reuters Health Information, Inc. Prior to joining Reuters, Dr. Atkinson was at Lifetime Medical Television for 10 years where she served as Senior Vice President of Programming, overseeing all of the continuing medical education programs aired on the network.

Dr. Atkinson was also the founding editor of the consumer newsletter HealthNews for the Massachusetts Medical Society, publisher of the New England Journal of Medicine, and served as its editor-in-chief for more than 12 years. Dr. Atkinson has also been a columnist for New Woman magazine and a resident physician on DrWeil.com and iVillagehealth.com.

Dr. Atkinson has an MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and an MS from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Colgate University with a BS in biology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
